The War in Your Heads Vol.1 compilation from Noise Jihad is available on Bandcamp and includes the track “June 3rd, 1928” from the upcoming new album from Static of Masses.
This week’s featured track is “Pestilence” from the album “Apocalyptic Metaphors”. As previously mentioned, Most SOM tracks start out with an audio experiment. This one began with the idea of using the voice through a microphone as a modulation source within a Dave Smith Instruments Evolver synthesizer. The dark, trashy underlying drone that permeates most of the piece is the result of this experiment. This is an oppressive and bleak sonic exploration meant to induce the essence of Pestilence.
